#PolkaDotsandMoonbeams was published first in 1940, that’s 80 years ago. And it became a huge hit for #FrankSinatra. The music was written by Jimmy Van Heusen and lyrics by Johnny Burke. It’s also one of the world’s top 100 recorded jazz tunes.
So naturally, I wanted to try it.
I’ve never sung a song to a bowed bass before. But there’s a first time for everything. Mauro Sereno (@mrsunnybass) recorded it in #Cavriana, Italy where he lives. I bet it’s beautiful there.
And I sang it in Bangalore, where I live where it once was beautiful. Now not so much.
It would be so nice to do this on a stage with Mauro in a tux and me in a long gown.
